Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-08-19

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding contract between you (“you”, “your”) and Capital Fortress, a service operated by Furni Systems SRL, a company organized under the laws of Romania (“Capital Fortress”, “we”, “our”, “us”). They govern your access to and use of Capital Fortress: Stock Screener and any related services, content and tools we operate under that name (the “Service”).

By using the Service — including simply browsing it — you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Educational nature of the Service — please read first

The Service is provided strictly for general financial education and research purposes. It is not financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting or any other form of professional advice, and nothing it displays — no screen, filter, ratio, ranking, score or company page — is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security. A company appearing in a screen you built is not a suggestion that you invest in it; it is the arithmetic result of the filters you chose. You bear sole responsibility for every financial decision you make. Consult a professional licensed in your jurisdiction before acting on anything you see here.

2. Where our numbers come from, and their limits

The fundamentals in the Service are derived from public company filings published by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and from third-party market data. We do not create this data and we cannot guarantee it.

  • Figures may be delayed, stale, restated by the issuer, or wrong at the source.
  • Prices shown are not real-time and must not be relied on for trading.
  • Derived ratios inherit every error in their inputs, and our own calculation may differ from another provider’s method for the same named ratio.
  • Coverage is incomplete: a company absent from a screen is not thereby a company that failed it.

Verify anything that matters against the primary filing before you act on it. We are not liable for decisions taken on data that turned out to be inaccurate, delayed or incomplete.

3. Access tiers, and what “unlimited” means

The Service has no user accounts. Access is established by a signed cookie in your browser, and there are three tiers, described in full on our pricing page:

  • Anonymous — a small fixed number of company pages, in total.
  • Free — a small number of new companies each day, recurring, once you provide a full name and email address. The daily allowance resets at midnight UTC, which will fall during the day in your own timezone; the Service shows you the actual reset time where it matters.
  • Subscriber — paid, and unlimited for any normal research use.

We disclose the one qualification on that word: a subscription is subject to a daily fair-use ceiling, set roughly an order of magnitude above the heaviest realistic research day. It exists to stop one subscription being used to copy the dataset wholesale. If you ever reach it, the Service tells you plainly what happened and how to reach us rather than failing silently.

Re-opening a company you have already opened never costs another lookup on any tier. Allowances are counted per person and per connection, not per browser session; clearing cookies does not restore a spent allowance.

4. Payment, renewal and cancellation

  • Prices, currency, taxes and billing cycles are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; we never receive your card number.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in your plan page. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not cut access short — you keep the Service until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • If a payment fails, we keep your access for a short grace period while Stripe retries your card, rather than cutting you off immediately. If it has still not succeeded when that period ends, access stops.
  • If a payment is refunded in full, the access that payment bought ends.
  • Refund eligibility, including the 14-day satisfaction window on a first subscription, is set out in our Refund Policy.

For any billing question, write to support@capitalfortress.org. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory right of withdrawal or refund you have under the consumer law of your country of residence.

5. Acceptable use

You will not, and will not permit anyone else to: (a) scrape, crawl, bulk-download, mirror or redistribute the data or content in the Service, or use it to build a competing dataset or product; (b) circumvent or attempt to circumvent the paywall, the free allowance, rate limits or any other access control, including by creating multiple identities to refill a free allowance; (c) share, resell or sublicense your subscription; (d) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our source code or methods; (e) interfere with the integrity, security or performance of the Service, or introduce malware; (f) use the Service to provide personalised financial advice or a regulated financial service to anyone else; (g) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Our content and intellectual property

The Service — its software, interfaces, screening methodology, derived metrics, presentation and the Capital Fortress name and marks — is owned by Furni Systems SRL or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own research, for as long as you comply with these Terms. Underlying public filings are the property of their issuers and of the authorities that publish them; nothing here transfers rights in third-party data to you.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them freely, without compensation or attribution.

7. Your searches and your data

The searches you run and the companies you open are recorded, and we use them to operate and improve the Service. What is recorded, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have over it are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Please read it — it describes real processing, not boilerplate.

8. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may add, modify, suspend or discontinue features, tiers, data coverage and pricing at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date; the updated Terms take effect when posted, and for a material change we will use reasonable efforts to bring it to your attention. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. A price change to an existing subscription applies from your next renewal, never retroactively.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, that your use creates legal, security or financial risk, that payment is overdue, or that the law requires it. You may stop using the Service at any time; if you hold a subscription, see section 4 for how cancellation works. Sections 1, 2, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13 survive termination.

10. Disclaimers — Service provided “AS IS”

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, DATA, FEATURES AND OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS, COMPLETENESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE. ANY FIGURE, RATIO, RANKING OR SCREEN RESULT YOU OBTAIN FROM THE SERVICE IS INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND MAY DIFFER MATERIALLY FROM THE ISSUER’S OWN REPORTED FIGURES OR FROM REAL-WORLD OUTCOMES.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEITHER FURNI SYSTEMS SRL NOR ANY OF ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS OR LICENSORS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS, LOST INVESTMENT GAINS, TRADING OR MARKET LOSSES, LOST OPPORTUNITY OR LOST DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY UNDER OR IN CONNECTION WITH THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY OR (B) US$50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

12. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Furni Systems SRL, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors and licensors from and against any claim, demand, action, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms or of any law, or (c) any decision you make based on the Service.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute between you and us are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence, the exclusive venue for any claim is the competent courts of Romania, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis; class actions, consolidated proceedings and representative actions are not permitted.

14. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Assignment. We may assign these Terms in connection with a corporate transaction or to an affiliate; you may not assign them without our written consent.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including failures of the data sources on which the Service depends.
  • Notices. You may send notices to us at support@capitalfortress.org. Because the Service has no accounts, we have no address at which to notify you unless you have given us one; changes are announced on this page.
  • Headings. Section headings are for convenience only.
